Groddle Afternoon
A fan remake of Glitch, the whimsical browser game, rebuilt for the modern web. Play solo or online with friends.

The world of Glitch, back in your browser.
Glitch was a browser game made by Tiny Speck from 2011 to 2012: a strange, gentle world shaped by the imaginations of eleven giants, with no fighting, just piggies to pet, trees to harvest, rocks to mine and a lot of very odd streets. When it closed, Tiny Speck gave its art, music and server code to the public domain. Groddle Afternoon rebuilds that world for today’s web, following the rules in their released code, using their own art and sound.

Pet, harvest, mine and make.
Walk the original streets of Ur. Pet piggies and milk butterflies, harvest fruit, spice and egg trees, mine rocks with a pick and smelt the ore into metal, cook in a frying pan and blend smoothies. Grow a garden, learn skills, earn badges, spend your imagination on upgrades and decorate a house of your own.

Quests, races and the Rook.
Take on the quests from the original game: the Winter Walk, races for floating quoins, puzzle rooms and story quests. Ride the subway, build street projects, and stand together when the Rook swoops in to attack.

Solo or together.
Play solo with no account: your character saves in your browser. Or make an account and play online, where other players share the street with you: chat, parties, shared quoins and rocks, races, trading, gifts, the auction house and Rook attacks fought together.
Built with PixiJS.
Groddle Afternoon runs in a desktop browser with PixiJS and is played with the keyboard. Its website and accounts run on Minn, and multiplayer has a small server of its own, written in Go. Everything is on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a fan project and isn’t affiliated with Tiny Speck or Slack. Play it at groddleafternoon.com.
